DODONI
SCIENTIFIC REVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY AND ARCHAEOLOGY
The Annual Dodoni is one of the most historic scientific journals in Greece. It was first published in the early 1970s, as a periodical edition of the unified, at the time, School of Philosophy of the University of Ioannina. The provisional Director for the publication of the first two volumes, of 1972 and 1973, was the Dean of the School of Philosophy, Stefanos I. Papadopoulos. The volume of 1974 bears the signature of Theofanis I. Kakridis, as the first Director of the Review. With the division of the School of Philosophy into three Departments, an equal number of series of issues were established, where the title of the Review is followed by the name of the Department. Thus, since 1985 Dodoni is published as the “Scientific Review of the Department of History and Archaeology of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Ioannina” [Issue one - Volume fourteen]. Articles written by the most prestigious professors, among the most prominent names of the Greek academic community, were published in this journal’s issues. The Annual of the Department got the international abbreviation: Dodone (hist) [see the authoritative list of abbreviations of the Review “L’Année Philologique”]. An archive of the Annual is kept at the Deanery of the School of Philosophy and one can consult the table of contents of each volume on the Dean’s website.
